"I feel tremendous guilt towards the books I ignore."
In this Paris Review article Michele Filgate confronts her literary remorse and highlights Meriç Algün Ringborg's "The Library of Unborrowed Books." After reading her confession I can admit that I suffer from an acute case of reading FOMO. Most of my guilt is concentrated on Amazon where constant additions to my wish lists have given way to decision fatigue and I'm often crippled by the inability to choose what to read next. And don't even get me started on Evernote and Instapaper and the countless other apps bookmarking articles I may never get to. I really wish I could give these unborrowed books a home, but they'd probably be just as neglected in my care.
