NY Magazine's The Cut is going behind the scenes to document the creation of Ohne Titel's Fall 2013 Collection. With studios in the heart of Chelsea, the design duo of Flora Gill and Alexa Adams are surrounded by artistic inspiration, but I was particularly excited to learn that one of my favorite artists played a vital role in the creation of this collection. Tauba Auerbach's woven canvases provided a spark for Gill and Adams, and the grid became the building block of Fall 2013. I love how in mixing patterns Auerbach and Ohne Titel play with the fluidity of the grid, almost forsaking its structural implications and enticing you into a sort of minimalist hypnosis.

In part one of series the designers reveal the shows and artists that influenced the collection (with a cameo by Shirin Neshat). Check out The Making of the Collection, Part I: Ohne Titel, here: http://nymag.com/thecut/2013/02/making-of-a-collection-with-ohne-titel.html
