Independent and Spring Launch a Program of Artist-Created Audio and Film Installations, Selected by Curator David Gryn

Independent and Spring are pleased to announce a program of immersive audio experiences and film screenings for the ninth edition of Independent New York. Curated by renowned sound and video curator David Gryn, the director of Daata Editions, the program will be installed throughout the public spaces of Independent and Spring Place for the duration of Independent, March 8–11, 2018. The program will feature works by artists from exhibiting galleries and Daata Editions, transforming the experience of the common areas surrounding Independent.

About David Gryn

David Gryn is the Director of Daata Editions, an online commissioning platform for artists working with digital media. Since its inception in 2015, Daata has commissioned over 300 artworks by 70 artists including David Blandy, Jake Chapman, Keren Cytter, Sue de Beer, Tracey Emin, FlucT, Leo Gabin, Rachel Maclean, Takeshi Murata, Rashaad Newsome, Hannah Perry, Jon Rafman, Scott Reeder, Amalia Ulman, Artie Vierkant, Lu Yang, Toby Ziegler amongst others. Gryn is also the founder and director of Artprojx, which screens, curates, promotes and lectures on artists’ moving image and other art projects in collaboration with leading contemporary artists, art galleries, museums, art fairs, art schools worldwide.
