Torsten Richter (drawing)

Untitled, detail (graphite pencil on paper, 2011)

Torsten Richter's drawings are of life-sized everyday objects:  a scythe, a hayfork, a discarded wooden board and chisel.  His focal point is drawing the object on a white surface, a sheet of paper, calling attention to the simple functionality of the device with amazing sensuality.  The insignificant become wondrous to the viewer's eyes.

"Das Unerhörte ist in allem enthalten."
