5 Ways to Make Your Institution Stand Out on Artsy
Here are a few tips and tricks for you to use in CMS—Artsy’s content management system—in order to make your institution’s page more dynamic for Artsy’s international audience of art patrons.
1. Include metadata
Include as much metadata (artist, medium, date, etc.) as possible for each individual artwork you upload. Adding metadata to artworks automatically links them to the corresponding artist pages, which get the most traffic from the 2.2+ million unique visitors our website receives per month.
2. Upload everything—past, present, and future
Even if you don’t have any upcoming exhibitions, you can still show the breadth of your organization’s mission. Upload past exhibitions and works from your permanent collection so they appear on your profile. Make sure to include the individual artworks in an exhibition so your content appears on Artsy artist pages automatically.
3. Highlight your curatorial practice
Installation shots and other images of the exhibition space not only highlight the work of your curators but also are a fantastic way to engage art lovers with your space, wherever they are in the world.
4. Make sure your images are viewable
In order to make sure your newest images are viewable on your page, please “select availability” and select “on loan” or “permanent collection.” Then make sure to click the “publish request” button next to each artwork image in CMS. This will notify us that your images are ready so we can publish them on Artsy.
5. Show off your shows
Don’t forget to make your current or upcoming exhibitions your “Featured Shows” in order for them to appear on the top of your Artsy page.
