"Talbot Lago Coco" (可可)

Mum says my dad is an important figure and I “ought not to disturb him when he is doing business”. So I never do. Like a good boy I always sneak in to pa’s office, steal his miniature black car from the cabinet, and go down to the garage where all the real cars stand in their glory. My favourite ones are black. They remind me of pa’s serious demeanor. Though it was now 11pm my mind drifted back to the afternoon. Today, for the first time, I didn’t return the car to its perch. While playing I heard my dad and his friends dicussing some business. I was not allowed in the garage either, so just before he discovered me I hid the toy in one of the big freezers. But i’d have to retrieve it sooner or later... so back I went.Sounds, smells and colors started to swirl around me. My memory spat out “pop, pop, pop”, groaning, the smell of smoke, and the colour red. I opened the garage door and looked at the big freezers. On the way there I slid on red liquid, but regained my balance quickly. I opened the freezer. Sifting through a few frozen hands, fingers and feet, I found the car right next to a man’s head. Proud of myself, I dug out the toy and safely returned it to its rightful place.
