Tobey Show Closing Saturday 5/10

If you haven't yet seen David Tobey's solo show of paintings at Pleiades (530 W 25th St.) be sure to drop by this coming week before it closes on May 10th.

In this exhibition David demonstrates how some components of artists' paints -- pigments, solvents and other chemicals that have always been considered incompatible with each other when applied wet to a canvas -- can produce remarkable effects in detail when used very carefully.

The solo show contains new paintings that have not even been photographed before with the exception of the one shown (Phoenix, a mixed media work on canvas, 30" x 24").
