I acquired Rod Penner's Pink House with "Big Wheels" back in 1992 and have been living with it ever since.  To me the test of any piece of art is how well it holds up, especially if you see it multiple times of every day.  I still love the painting.  It is also the one in my collection that evokes a consistent response from both those who love and appreciate art and those who may not but are always struck by the image (and surprised that it is not a photograph).  Rod Penner continues to produce beautiful work, images that bring us in touch with the America that many of us rarely see and often fail to appreciate as part of the human condition.
