The world is looking to Brazil again!

ArtRio, considered today both by collectors and by art insiders as a not-to miss event on the international annual art agenda, has opened its fourth edition.

A broad audience has flown to Rio de Janeiro from all around the world to appreciate the vibrant Brazilian art scene and to visit the numerous galleries who participate to the fair.

Monica Espinel, an independent Brazilian-based curator, had designed exclusive tours around ArtRio and lucky for us, she has shared them with us!

Monica Espinel: My tour, entitled "Nice to Meet You," is based on the title of work by Jac Leirner. The title brings a bit of humor to the tour and alludes to the interaction between the works and people visiting the fair. The tour investigates the legacies of surrealism in contemporary art, including artistic processes such as collage, free association, the utilization of objets trouvé, the readymade, poetry, imagination, chance and psychotropic drugs.
