Jan Josef Hoermans I, The mussel vendor

All I have to say about this painting is: LOOK WHAT THE DOG IS DOING!

I guess that's a slice of early 1700s Dutch life for you. This is a thoroughly charming and amusing work and I would love to own it. But all the same I don't think I'm going to get my mussels from this vendor.
