Curator’s Office is a progressive gallery and curatorial service bureau based in Washington, DC. The space was founded in 2004 by curator Andrea Pollan, who has organized over 250 exhibitions in the US since 1990 and has written numerous catalogs and brochures. In addition to representing emerging and mid-career artists, Curator’s Office curates off-site exhibitions for museums, university galleries, public art projects, and non-profit venues. The gallery is committed to presenting works in all media. Curator’s Office periodically invites independent and museum curators to display tightly focused presentations of an artist or an art collective’ s work and to provide an explanation for the cultural significance of the selection. This permits the gallery to present emerging, mid-career, and established artists, including deceased artists of historic significance to contemporary cultural practice. Periodically, artists are invited to interpret the “office/gallery space” through interventions, installations, and performances. The gallery is relocating to a larger venue in Washington, DC in February of 2014.
