About the artist: Sylvie Blocher was born in France. She authored the terms “I We Are” and “Universal - Local art”. These concepts are made manifest in her continuing video series “Living Pictures” which interrogate authority, control of bodies and Otherness. In 1997 she and architect-urban planner François Daune founded the collaborative art and architectural action group "Campement Urbain", which received, with Tim Williams, the National Urban Planning prize 2012 of Australia. They re-design the master plan of the Western city of Penrith with the words of the inhabitants. Sylvie Blocher's works are shown in numerous international museums and biennials and feature in major collections worldwide, Mudam, SFMoma, Center Georges Pompidou, AGO, etc.
