About the Exhibitor
Founded in 2001, bitforms gallery is engaged in a contemporary focus that specializes in the visual discourse of new media culture. The gallery’s program draws upon a diverse range of disciplines and intellectual perspectives while maintaining a clear progressive thread. Supporting mid-career and historic figures, as well as launching emerging artists, bitforms gallery works with a roster of artists who participate in leading international exhibitions. An adventurous group of private and corporate collectors are among the gallery’s supporters and the champions of its artists. Spurring the growth of institutional collection for ephemeral and media-based work, the gallery has recently placed pieces at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C.; Tate Modern, London; The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester; the City of San Jose; Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis; and the Chrysler Museum, Norfolk.
