Between Senses - Iabadiou Piko and Siri Kollandsrud at Volta 14 Basel
Nunu Fine Art is pleased to present a joint exhibition of Iabadiou Piko and Siri Kollandsrud in Volta 14 Basel. Our exhibition, ‘Between Senses,’ will bring our visitors an extraordinary experience with an immersive space constructed with the abstract language of paintings and installations.

Iabadiou Piko has amazed his audience with his vibrant colors and untamed touch on canvas. In his large-scale works, an abstract and semi-symbolic syntax is developed with the attempt to seize the intangible and fleeting moments in life, the moments consisted of vague feelings and indistinct perceptions, yet resonating violently with the artists’ keen primitive senses.

Meanwhile, Siri Kollandsrud has created poetic paintings with her mellow touch of shapes and colors. Wrapped in a balanced hue, the fragments of life were transformed by her into images that can only be read in between senses and imaginations. Her crocheted installation creates a similar surreal effect: floral-shaped objects hanging from above, withered while mimicking life, as if they exist only in between our reality and untouchable dreams.

The large-scale abstract paintings and scattered installations allow our visitors to explore the exhibition with their body perception enhanced by the transfigured space. With a lighting design help shading off the rims of space and time in the booth, our show will lead the visitors into a world of art that looms between the solid and the intangible world, between physical and spiritual senses.
