ONE FOUR
About: Gallery Profile
Gallery
Since opening its doors in Seoul in 2018, One Four has established itself for its forward-thinking exhibitions promoting artworks by international contemporary artists.
Artists
One Four represents an international collection of established and emerging artists working across a diverse range of media and concerns. New York-based Ina Jang’s poetic and playful photographs often display an interplay of colour and shape, while examining the physicality of the photographic medium; Kyoto-based photographer Yuki Yamazaki explores the past and present in his mostly black-and-white photographs, taken from an aerial view; and Samuel Zeller, who lives and works in Geneva, combines elements of photography and painting in his images depicting greenhouses and botanical gardens in Europe.
A number of artists on the gallery’s roster engage with painting, such as Sunyoung Hwang, creating abstract paintings that explore the intangible; Huseyin Sami, whose use of house paint gives rise to three-dimensional forms on a canvas or a wall; Taher Jaoui, who draws from various sources including cartoons and Abstract Expressionism in his semi-figurative paintings; and Heewon Oh, whose acrylic paintings evoke elements of the natural world.
