Buying art.
Before 2013 I had bought no Art. 2012 was my year of making my own, I've got meters of canvases strewn around old offices and houses of friends & family. So for Winterval I opted to by my parents two Leonid Alfrenov pieces, I love his style and I really love his use of colour. I was surprised to find that his works were totally affordable for early-stage collectors. Coming out at around 400 dollars for the two paintings and then another 200 once I got them framed it felt like a reasonable introduction.
Yesterday Artsy opened a new Sale, Game on. A collection dedicated to the art of play by Grey Area. And there were some series of cards which looked cool and were within my price range. As you can tell from my Kickstarter backing page, I love card games. So, wanting to ensure that the website devs have everything just right I bought it and only gave one minor bug report. It was a nice experience.
