Fulvio Di Piazza creates the most amazing anthropomorphised landscapes. His work is highly rated in two of my favourite genes: The Fantastic and Contemporary Grotesque. 

The works remind me a lot of the game Shadow of The Colossus, a game consisting essentially of one man climbing up on to giant monsters in order to take them down. The colour scheme isn't quite so vibrant ( and volcanic! ) but there's definitely some connections going on there.
