Twin Dijkstras

Tyler Coulton joined Artsy as a research intern today. In the on-boarding process you give a short bio and then that gets emailed out of everyone on the team. Part of his bio was about mispronouncing Rineke Dijkstra's name. 

I learnt of a Dijkstra when I was back in college doing advanced maths. My Dijkstra is a computer scientist and he came up with some great (if arguably simple) search alogrithms for finding paths between objects. In my teens I wrote an implementation of it for a game I was working on.

The artist Dijkstra on the other hand is a photographer who specializes in contemporary portraits. I love her work. We need some on artsy.
