Dacca Days
Pacita Abad Art Estate
During the 2018 Dhaka Art Summit (DAS), the Pacita Abad Art Estate presented “Dacca Days” (issuu.com/pacitaabad/docs/daccadays), a new monograph profiling the social realist paintings done by the late Philippine-American painter Pacita Abad in 1978-79.
Pacita was the first foreign artist to live and paint in Bangladesh after the country achieved independence in 1971. The DAS is an international, non-commercial research and exhibition platform for art and architecture related to South Asia. Led by Chief Curator Diana Campbell Betancourt, local and international guest curators from leading institutions discussed the findings of their research across South Asia.
