Facing the Sun, oil on canvas, 192x100 cm, 2001

Cheng Chung-chuan's creation is based on abstraction; however, "Sunflower" is the only figurative subject. Why does she choose it?

Although it is figurative, it is not realistic, either. It is a kind of symbol: standing firm and straight toward the sun.

Life can be full of hardships, but the strength of character makes people glorious!

"Sunflower" has only appeared nine times in Cheng Chuang-chuan’s oeuvre.
