In anticipation of Valentine's Day, our staff is sharing their most beloved exhibitions from our archives:
Pierre Huyghe, A Journey That Wasn't, 2005
You are watching a performance with the orchestra blasting; in a skating rink adorned with fake icebergs and penguins; in the middle of Central Park; as the mist and the lights obfuscate the towering skyscrapers in the background; while being filmed as an extra for a movie, which is to be debuted at no less than the Whitney Biennial. I'd probably need an even longer sentence to tell you that this Huygherian-scape is exactly where I'd like to be.
