#throwbackthursday: "Bus Shelters I," Dennis Adams
Public Art Fund
For this throwback we back thirty years this month to Bus Shelters I and Dennis Adams at Lincoln Center:
“I have always tried to incorporate my own doubt into the structure of the work. My intention has been to set up a series of entrance and exits surrounding meaning, subverting its foundation.”
Bus Shelters I opened September 1983 and remained at Lincoln Center through February of 1987. The display panel, in place of advertisements, held changing black and white press photographs and was backed on the reverse by text such as “Become the Symptom.” Read more about the open-to-viewer-interpretation exhibition at PublicArtFund.org
