Very impressive

The work was commissioned for a group exhibit named Missions in 1987. Refers to the oppressive acculturation process promoted by Jesuit priests among indigenous Populations in southern Brazil between sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. Built as a cube, it has its floor full of coins and its roof made of large bones of cattle. The thin malleable central column of wafers connects these two plans. At the occasion of the grand opening, twenty six years ago, some visitors could go inside the veils, walking and treading on the money. I dont know if its still possible.
