Call for Submissions
This is an opportunity for college and graduate students to have their works included in The ROCI Road to Peace: Experiments in the Unfamiliar at the Academy Art Museum, alongside iconic works by Robert Rauschenberg and renowned international artists. Submit your application here by Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 11:59pm ET.
To be considered, students enrolled at accredited institutions around the globe are invited to submit artworks, in a digital format, that embody the spirit of the Rauschenberg Overseas Culture Interchange (ROCI). Rauschenberg was a visual scavenger, surveying the nuances of the everyday with the hope to improve understanding and awareness. In what ways does your artwork seek to foster greater cultural understanding?
Criteria:
- Complete the online submission form (link here).
- Students must be 18 years or older and currently enrolled in an accredited institution.
- Each student can submit up to 3 artworks, with a maximum of 3 images per artwork. Each student must submit in English an artist’s statement (max. 300 words) and a brief bio (max. 300 words).
- All works will be exhibited in a digital format on a screen. Works that lend themselves to this format are preferred, but those that do not will also be considered. Submitted artworks will be reviewed by Bray and art professionals from the Academy Art Museum, Rauschenberg Foundation, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York. Please review the Official Submission Rules before submitting your entry.
