Stefan Marx‘Dear DTLA’

Stefan Marx is the November guest of the billboard fronting the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. Being a collaboration between the Ace Hotel and the sharing file service WeTransfer the DTLA billboard hosts each month a new inspiring artist or designer.
For his billboard the Hamburg-based artist took inspiration from the ‘I Break Horses’ Smog song. Lyrics always being a main theme of his work, they appear under many forms on his canvas and derived objects. Indeed, Marx worked jointly with the label Smallville Records on the opening of their new Hamburg store as well as on products featuring his iconic quotes and characters. As a wink to celebrate both Smallville’s 10th anniversary and the release of Marx’s billboard, an exclusive download of the Smallpeople track ‘Cricket Orchestra’ has been released. A collaboration that consecrates art, technology and travel all at once.
