Savina Museum holds the exhibition to reveal the secret of creativity that are concealed by relationship between brain and art.
This exhibition serves to pioneer a genre of art in field of neuroscience while giving us an opportunity to examine the relationship between artist and artwork through a series of brain-based aptitude tests and an analysis of brain types.
For the exhibition, first of all, the brains of fourteen participating artists are examined using MSC (a brain-based aptitude test) of MSC brain consulting group inc. and their interview.
What's more, through the support by Creativity Engineering Institute, the specific routes of brains that make the artists operate their creativity is examined through TTCT(Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) which is well-known creativity test and used for revealing how much people produce new ideas when they deal with visual and diagrammatic matters.
Art work are created by brain, so they can be expressed as different forms according to artists' brain cognition models. In addition, the aesthetic pleasure that can be experienced when people appreciate art work is also reactions of brain.
This exhibition shows viewers that the fundamental that brain acts and aesthetic expression are deeply connected each other more than people consider it.
First of all, gentle and sensual atmosphere are seen in Strongly Right Brained Artists' work. They are interested in theme about "human" and "relationship". They also tend to reflect personal interest into their work and directly deliver their massage into their work.
Second,Right Brained Artists have strong piratical sense and perceptual space skills, so they tend to be interested in social phenomenon and social issue.
Third, Slightly Right Brained Artists tend to be so into what they are interested in and show strong intellectual curiosity about them. they love scientific research and have abilities to think and reason. for these reason, rational massages are often seen in their work.
Finally, Left and Right Brained Artists tend to be self-disciplined, and they are interested in theme of left brained type and show the expression of right brained type in their work. In the exhibition, Left and Right Brained Artists chose surrealistic theme.
More over, the exhibition can be new try to find out how visual art can be interpreted by the events inside of brain.
