This week’s lunchtime poll comes to you straight from Jacksonville, FL – at the launch of LAND”s cross-country billboard project: The Manifest Destiny Billboard ProjectI am so pleased to be here with Los Angeles-based artist Shana Lutker whose first “chapter” of billboards (entitled Onward and Upward) kicks-off this exciting endeavor.  On Sunday, October 20, 2013 we will have a ribbon cutting ceremony and opening reception, but before we celebrate, Shana answered a few questions for our lunchtime poll:

1.) If you could read someone's mind completely for a day who would it be, and why?

SL: Sigmund Freud – I want to know what was really going on in that brain, and I am fascinated by that time in history. How aware was he of all of the contradictions and coincidences in his work? It would really depend on the specific day that I got to read his mind. There's a lesson to be learned from Being John Malkovich here, it seems likely to go wrong…

2.) What are your least favorite and most favorite three words?

SL: Least favorite words: tasty, bitch, gyro

Most favorite words: vernacular, porcupine, umbrella

3.) If you could have any superpower, which would it be?

I'm very drawn to my friend Kris' favorite superpower: the ability blink yourself places. If I could go anywhere in a second, I’d never have to deal with packing or luggage. Very appealing.  But, I don't know if I could pass up the ability to fly. I'd love to be able to just jump up and put out my arms and fly through the air.
