SP-Arte’s curated sections continue to encourage cutting edge programs and artworks that challenge fairgoers. In the Solo sector, curated by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas, a young independent curator based between London and Lisbon, exhibitors are invited to feature booths with a focus on a single artist. Project highlights include, Hamish Fulton (espaivisor, Valencia), Henri Chopin (Richard Saltoun, London), Marilia Furman (PSM, Berlin), Ciprian Muresan (Plan B, Berlin) and a strong presence of young Brazilian galleries Emma Thomas, Sé, and Warm.

After a huge success in 2015, Open Plan, a section dedicated to large works and installations will return in 2016 exclusively presenting commissioned works by SP-Arte, organized and curated by XII Cuenca Biennial curator, Jacopo Crivelli Visconti. The sector includes works by the Italian Francesco Arena, the Cyprian Christodoulos Panayiotou and the young Brazilian Daniel de Paula
