CELEBRATE! at NYPL - Riverside
The National Association of Women Artists presented “Celebrate!” in the community room gallery at the Riverside Branch of the New York Public Library, 127 Amsterdam Avenue (at 65th Street), from December 13, 2013- January 22, 2014.
As 2013 drew to a close-- and 2014 began-- N.A.W.A. celebrated the joy of family, friends, community and the future. The new year marks the 125th Anniversary of this pioneer association, founded by five woman artists in New York City on January 31, 1889. As twenty-first century women of vision, we proudly continue the initiative of our founders as we commemorate our quasqui-centennial anniversary. N.A.W.A. has evolved into an 800-member strong organization of professional women artists from across the United States. Each exhibit in 2014 will reflect a spirit of celebration centered around the theme “Women of Vision”. A public reception and Gallery Talk was held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 2-4 p.m.
