This is my first post at Artsy. I am a collector, not an artist, but someone that want to protect the heritage of those that represent our creativity culture. If you did not realized, my first language is french canadian.

Rene Richard was born in the 19th century in Swizerland. He moved with his family in Canada around 1909. He became a runner in Western part of Canada, until he met Clarence Gagnon around 1927, who initiate him to painting.

Rene Richard move in Baie-St-Paul, Quebec, Canada around 1940. Rene Richard with Canadians group of seven members, Emily Carr, Clarence Gagnon, Suzor Cote and Marc-Aurel Fortin, is one of the most important historical painter from Canada.

Several national muséums, and major corporations have paintings and drawings from Rene Richard. This drawing is what collectors of Canada are looking the most: which is a wood runners scene. This drawing was made in 1938 and the size is 18 inch x 15 inch.
