The thing I think is interesting about a painter like Gontcharova, whose career was so severely interrupted by the events of her own life, is that there just isn't a straight line between artistic creation and the eventual emergence in to the public eye of a given work...Too much went down for there to always be traceable paper proof of the thing's life.
