I never buy any works at art fairs by artists I do not know. My selection includes only works by artists whose practice I have been following already. The pieces are very different and the artists practices as well; the only element I can say could be common to all is that they are all quite humble works linked to ideas, processes, and performances beyond the object itself, therefore not so self-absorbed and self-indulging.

My Selection:

Monica Bonvicini, Black You, 2010, at Galleria Massimo Minini

Joan Jonas, Mirror performance I, 1969, at Galleria Raffaella Cortese

Marieta Chirulescu, Untitled, 2011, at Micky Schubert

Cathy Wilkes, Untitled 5, 2010, at Galleria Raucci / Santamaria

Josef Strau, Model for the Reconstruction of the Abominable House, 2014, at Vilma Gold

Helen Mirra, Hourly Field Notes, 30 October, Yakushima, 2012, at Galleria Raffaella Cortese

Julia Wachtel, Untitled (blue donkey), 1994, at Vilma Gold

Becky Beasley, Extensions (Elaboration No. 2), 2013, at Francesca Minini

Judith Hopf, A sudden walk, installation view, kaufmann repetto, Milan, 2012, at kaufmann repetto
