Syrian artist Abdullah Murad was born in Homs and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus in 1970. Murad's works have been exhibited in solo and group shows since 1973 in France, Germany, the UK, all over the Middle East and at international auction houses.
His paintings are experimental and wild in the use of colour and movement, exposing layers of details, varying from thick impasto to transparent. He also mixes media textures, newspaper collages and cut-outs. Abdullah’s art resides in the dialogue between the architectural surface and the colour that moves in sensational shivers in a romantic abstract visual expression, transforming his works into arabesques.
