Ahmet Duru

Ahmet Duru mostly uses nature photos as an inspiration for his works. His aim is to portray the micro and macro views within nature with different outlooks. The artist uses his nature visits as a means to create inspiration and a backdrop for his paintings. He wishes to reflect the effects nature and a location has on people’s spirit. In some of his works, he takes a section from a photograph belonging to a certain geography; as the person gets closer to this reality and detail, he finds himself in an increasing abstraction by getting further away from reality. Ahmet Duru aims to circulate the mind of man, which is freed by taking its power from nature, through associations within the universe of thoughts. Beginning from concepts such as formation, existence and disappearance, the artist shapes his works by using charcoal, aquarel, and oil paintings.
