Alejandra Freymann
Alejandra Freymann was born in Xalapa, Mexico, in 1983 and spent the first years of her life in Brussels. She has been living in Spain since 1992, she lived several years in Seville, where she begins her artistic training. In 2007. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cuenca where she currently works as a teacher.
She works with painting and drawing. The notions of landscape and narrative constitute the two pillars of her work. The landscape understood as a bounded space, and as an expression of the subject's relationship with its surroundings, is used as a setting for the narrative and as a vehicle for pictorial research.
The narrativity, the time that goes by (what is told) is understood as the text that virtually underlies in painting and the possibility of an open story in the pictorial space, constituting the other great axis of her artistic practice. In this area, the influence of literary references and some recurring themes in art history.
