Àlex Rispal
b. 1996
Àlex Rispal is an Andorran artist who lives in Madrid, whose photographic work focuses on experimentation with objects, light and photosensitive materials.
He began his photography studies at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia in 2014 and completed his postgraduate course in image creation and reflection in 2019.
He currently works in his laboratory in Carabanchel, Madrid, where he is dedicated to experimentation and exploration.
His experimental work combines painting and analog photography with camera-less techniques such as chemigrams, photograms, surface emulsions and lumen prints.
Symbolism and abstraction appear frequently in his projects, in which he often uses natural elements as metaphors for the body, mysterious bucolic landscapes and visceral portraits, offering a contemporary interpretation of early photographic techniques. His work always parallels the search for the distortion of reality.
Since 2016, he has participated in group exhibitions in several cities in Spain, France, England, Venezuela and Argentina. Among the most outstanding exhibitions are “Views” at the CCE for the FAF, Rosario, Argentina in 2022, the Lucca Art Fair 2023 in Italy, and the most recent, “Flores”, from the EMA Collection in Madrid
His exhibitions include: "The Chemigram" in Fine Art Igualada, Catalonia, "Water" in 2024 in the Hybrid Art Fair, "Tuning in" in 2024 in the Taranmana Art Gallery, "Portals" in 2023 in Narciso, Madrid, among others.
