Alison Lambert studied at Leek and Coventry Schools of Art, graduating in 1984 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. Since graduating she has established an international reputation as one of the foremost British artists working with the human figure. Since 2010 she has been making prints using a monotype technique that allows direct physicality and spontaneity that is so characteristic of her drawings. Her most recent monotypes are the result of a period of time experimenting with two plates to produce single, unique works. This has enabled her to create effects with a visual richness that is closely related to her large drawings, the process she has used being very similar to the way she works with charcoal.
