Amirali Izadi grew up in an artistic family in Tehran, and his great grandfather Dabirkhaghan was a renowned Persian calligrapher of the past century. At an early age, he began training under the supervision of Master Yadollah Kaboli, the pioneer of Shekaste Calligraphy. Izadi often presents calligraphic images that lack of a sense of clarity, believing that art can have a greater influence when left to be discovered by the viewer. In his recent work, Izadi achieves this effect by carving the words of Persian poets, such as Hafez & Rumi, through layers of media on canvas. The artist is also a mountaineer and pro-skier, and has always been inspired by the diversity of colors in nature.
