Anton Unai

Unai finds the inspiration and materials for his work in daily life and urban environments. Materials include refuse and discarded items such as metal plates, old newspapers and recycling material. Unai does not limit himself to one medium in particular but expresses himself through both painting and performance, as well as installation art and silhouettes. Pop and subculture are mixed with religious icons, the artist’s own emotions and literary or artistic references, and reflect a vulnerable and sentimental form of humanity through powerful gestures.
