Arpaïs Du Bois

Arpaïs du Bois creates many of her drawings and paintings within the pages of journals. She exhibits these works either intact within the journal, or as torn-out pages arranged in different compositions. Alongside these smaller works, du Bois creates larger paintings and drawings on paper. She shows a deep fascination with the relationship between images and words; many of her diaries and drawings include text alongside gestural markmaking. By documenting her experiences and observations through abstract compositions, du Bois offers viewers a glimpse into her mind without assigning a specific meaning to her work. Du Bois has been featured in exhibitions across Europe.
