Avelino Sala

Avelino Sala (Gijon 1972) is a conceptual spanish artist. Based on his artistic pursuit, he explores social imaginary, favoring the critical dimension of art to prompt the taking of different stances towards today´s reality. His political and critical production focuses in the human condition, the situation of the human being in actual times, dystopia as a
metaphor of western civilization and historical memory as a dialogue keyword in order to understand our past to make a better future. Avelino also works with contemporary symbolic materials as money, flags and others, to create a different meaning of use. Trying to understand our world from a political position with a poetical point of view.
