Beatriz Dubois
Spanish, b. 1991
Her work reflects on themes such as the individual's relationship with nature, the search for one's own identity, the connection between humans and the external world as well as with themselves, the contemplation of art in contrast to the mass consumption of images, and the use of dualities and analogies as the conceptual foundation of her work. Graduated in Advertising and Public Relations from CEU San Pablo University and holding a professional photography degree from the School of Photography and Image Center EFTI, Dubois uses photography as the basis of her work and paper as a support for analog collages and compositions. Moreover, she employs photography as a foundation throughout her work, either as the final piece, as a narrative tool, or as material in digital and analog collages. The focus of her work is to attempt to illustrate topics of her interest, based on essays or experiences, concerning the architectural distribution of spaces, and the mental aspects of the human being.
