Belinda Garen
Belinda Garen was born in 1979 in Mexico City. She studied Art History at the Centro de Arte Mexicano, her interdisciplinary education includes history of religions, literature, art, iconography and philosophy, all of which nurture her work and visual exploration. In 2003 she studied photography at the Canadian Photographic Center in Toronto, Canada. Back in Mexico, in 2005, she studied Photography History and then she studied a master degree in Modern and Contemporary Mexican Art and another one in International Contemporary Art.
Among her personal and collective exhibitions, the most important are: Galería Patricia Conde-CDMX, Paris Photo Los Angeles, Miami Basel, Fountain Art Fair Miami, Open Realization Contemporary Art Center 798 Beijing, China, Museo Franz Mayer CDMX, Museo de la Estampa-Toluca, Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público CDMX, Hotel W (Fahrenheit magazine). Her work has been published in magazines such as Caras, Hola, Quien, Fahrenheit, and others.
She is currently developing art projects with social responsibility; as well as an investigation and production of an expansive photography series, in which she explores video temporality within 2D images, photo-sculpture as well as many photo-performance series.
