Berlin-based artist Berta Fischer creates opalescent sculptures using overlapping, tangled structures composed of acrylic glass, bent neon tubes, rope, and string. Her large-scale works look fluid and weightless despite the industrial materials used to create them. Fischer creates her wall-mounted and hanging sculptures using a process that includes CAD drawings, laser cutting, and manual sculpting. Fischer has had numerous solo exhibitions at galleries in Germany and Denmark, as well as solo shows at James Fuentes Gallery in New York in 2012 and 2019. One of her abstract acrylic sculptures, Untitled (2009), sold at auction in 2017 for £6,875.
