Portuguese, b. 1993
Juliana Del Burgo, artistically known as Burgo, was born in Cascais, Lisbon, Portugal.
With ancestry that can be traced to almost all continents (Brasilian, Polish, Marrocan, Swiss, Japanese, Mozambican, Italian, Egyptian), Burgo’s has a bold vision with an intent to make a difference.
Burgo studied art at the Fine Arts University in Lisbon and was also the apprentice of the well known Russian classic artist Vladimir Volegov when she was just 16 years old for two years. Exhibits regularly since the decade of 2010. Burgo lived in Lisbon, London (UK), Barcelona (Spain), all over India and currently spends most of her time in Tel Aviv (Israel).
She is inspired by the six senses with an uplifting twist that characterises her own unique vision. Juliana was exposed to other methods, techniques and ideas during her travels and connected to her roots, spiritual and physical side.
When questioned about her earliest artistic memories, Juliana expressed that, “The earliest memories I have are from when I was under a year old, hugged by a rainbow of colours, made of textiles of all shapes and textures at my grandmothers atelier in Cascais which later developed into daily watercolour sessions at her garden surrounded by ortence flowers, bougainvilleas, raspberries and tangerines together with Giorgio (the dog).”
THE BLOOMING BEAR PROJECT :
The season of gladness, color, abundance and growth has come to represent your time in life.
This bear induces you to look at the world around you more creatively and think outside what's considered "normal".
The beautiful, glowing colors of these bears are a symbol of renewal and new beginnings. They remind us to be thankful in this time when we can experience such prosperity such as that of a blossom.
The seasonless nature represented through them gives rise not only to the pure potential of what can be, but also
represents what it means to break out of your own boundaries.
