Catherine Gfeller

Photographer Catherine Gfeller captures the pulsing energy of urban spaces, insouciantly moving through cities with her camera in hand. She incorporates bridges, buildings, people, cars, and other city elements into her images, which are later layered, multiplied, and made into linear patterns. The gridded photographs document the ephemeral moments one experiences moving around the city, acting as a haunting meditation on the nature of fleeting movements. “The only form of stability can be found in being ‘lulled by the loop,’ as if caught up in the unfathomable trance of repetition,” says the artist.
