Biography

Catherine Sullivan's works combine the disciplines of theater, dance, film, music, and visual art. Her true medium might be considered the ensemble, and her works often involve multiple collaborators. In Triangle of Need, a 2007 multi-channel video installation, Sullivan weaves a nuanced story about evolution, class, wealth, poverty, and the inequalities and injustices in our global economy, incorporating threads about Nigerian e-mail scams, figure skating, and Neanderthal orphans, and time travel. Sullivan worked with numerous collaborators on the project, including Nigerian director Kunle Afolaya, composer Sean Griffin, choreographer Dylan Skybrook, and figure skater Rohene Ward.
