Chiharu Ashida (あしだ ちはる)
Japanese
Graduated from Takarazuka University of Art and Design (now Takarazuka University) with a major in graphic design. After working as an interior textile designer, Chiharu opened "Atelier Chiharu" at Ibaraki Sansui Gakuen, where she teaches painting to young children. Chiharu is also an illustrator, art director, and award-winning artist, holding many solo exhibitions.
She has loved drawing since she was a child, and often won prizes in sketch competitions when she was in elementary school. In high school, she studied oil painting under Shozo Shimamoto, a member of the Gutai Art Association, and later studied Japanese painting under Kacho Ikuta, a member of Nitten. She studied Japanese painting under Miyo Okochi, a member of the New Productions Association, but she was not satisfied with her studies, so she entered art university.
In this fast-changing society, she hopes to create works that will bring a little peace of mind to those who see them.
