Chu Chu 儲楚

Painter and photographer Chu Chu revitalizes traditional Chinese literati painting by combining elements from the past with a forward-thinking sensibility. Her ink-on-paper drawings feature calligraphic sutras in an unconventional format; the text is incorporated into the backdrop of the images. Chu’s contemporary aesthetic liberates ink art from tradition, merging classical compositions with modern sensuousness and emotion.
