Collier Schorr
American, b. 1963
Collier Schorr was born in New York in 1963, and lives and works in Brooklyn. She attended the School of Visual Arts, New York (1986), and in 2007-2008 was Guna S. Mundheim Fellow at the American Academy, Berlin. Recent solo exhibitions include Karma, New York, and 303 Gallery, New York (both 2014); Stuart Shave/Modern Art, London (2010); Galerie Barbara Weiss, Berlin (2009); Le Consortium, Dijon, and Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver (both 2008); and Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe (2007). Schorr’s work has been shown in recent group exhibitions including São Paolo Museum of Art, São Paolo, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, The Jewish Museum, New York, Skarstedt Gallery, London (all 2017); Luma Foundation, Arles, National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, Stuart Shave/Modern Art, London, Cheim & Read, New York (all 2016); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Rubell Family Collection, Miami (all 2015); Centre Pompidou-Metz, Metz (2014); and Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Paris (2012). She has participated in the Canadian Biennial (2017), the Istanbul Biennial (2011), and the Whitney Biennial (2002), and written for Artforum, Parkett, and Frieze magazines.
